There are several good introductory texts on Common Lisp. One example, which is freely available, is the book “Practical Common Lisp” by Peter Seibel (Seibel 2005) which teaches Common Lisp, and is directed mainly to programmers already experienced in other computer languages. You can find it online at http://www.gigamonkeys.com/book.
